Forged by Life

In this sonnet, I explore the inner strength that is revealed through the adversities faced throughout life. The journey to overcome obstacles shapes the soul, giving it an unbreakable resilience. No one but me has a clear idea,
Of the weight I have had to carry,
Hard paths, made to prove,
That the strength within me prepares.

And so, if one day someone declares,
How fragile I am, they can hardly imagine,
How much I have had to fight,
Until the soul was forged in steel.

That is why, when I say that I can,
Deal with any burden or torment,
It is because within me resides such a shelter,

That life with its hard movement,
Made me a great friend of pain,
And from it I forged my firm foundation.
