The Song of Freedom

I dedicate this sonnet to my childhood friend, Henrique Baptista, whose friendship inspired me to write about the freedom that I value so much. Over the years, our conversations and experiences have rekindled in me the free spirit, guided by unshakable principles. Thank you, Henrique, for always reminding me of the value of life, music and the dawn, which symbolize the true essence of being free.

The Song of Freedom

I am free, on the path of dreaming,
Loving freedom with fervor,
No chain shall be fear,
That my voice cannot dominate.

Firm principles, north to guide me,
I do not feel their warmth to give up,
Taming me is vain, there is no master in me,
Nor strength that can chain me.

I love the brightness of life, its ardor,
The beauty, the Sun in its rebirth,
The music, which becomes a clamor within me,

And the night, serene, covering me,
Mysterious, calmly guiding,
My being free, always reflecting.
