The Vote of Reason

Project Type

Sonnet

Date

10/2024

Location

Idaho, USA

This sonnet reflects on the importance of thoughtfulness and lucidity when exercising the right to vote. By intertwining faith and reason, each citizen's choice must be guided by a serene balance, avoiding deviations caused by uncontrolled emotions. Here, I invite the reader to breathe deeply and let calm and wisdom shape their decisions when making history with a vote of conscience and responsibility.

Sonnet:

Take a moment and let your mind be clear,
May reason guide you firmly and sanely,
At the crossroads where faith is vain,
And the emotions of many are mixed.

In the vote, where truth endures,
Before you resort to such a vile hand,
Consider the choice that the world enjoys,
For your soul cannot stand reason.

May wisdom be your guide,
Flee the darkness of vile illusion,
That leads many blind people to agony.

Take a deep breath, and with manly strength,
Let reason shape your worth,
For only then will destiny be kind.
