This sonnet explores the feeling of veiled envy that manifests itself through critical and judgmental looks, especially in the context of social media. It reflects the feeling of being observed by someone who, instead of celebrating our happiness, adopts a disdainful and disapproving attitude. However, while the gaze of others tries to undermine or evaluate our actions, the true power lies in the love shared between those who remain united, immune to external judgment. Thus, the sonnet reveals how emotional bonds overcome any criticism, no matter how constant it may be.
Seeing her with disdain, a haughty look,
Her face transformed into wrinkles of disgust,
In the photos we post, she comes to judge,
With eyes that disapprove, always active.
Like a noble lady, with a captive gaze,
That in every gesture makes us remember,
That there is always someone who never tires of observing,
And in every publication sees the reason.
Ah, old lady, in your face,
You carry judgments, so constant,
On social networks your kingdom is given.
But we, who live in enchantment,
We know that your gaze is just a cloak,
For love, for us, is shared.
