Portrait of Identity

Oh, you who seek to know the depths of my soul,
With eyes like stars piercing to deeper truths,
I shall echo the voice of the Luso world,
A vivid portrait of a past raised aloft.

From Angola I came, clad in hope’s attire,
And to the United States, I found my way,
Rich in science and arts, a profound sway,
With Camões, in sonnets, my heart’s fire.

In electronics, a domain well-praised,
At Micron distinguished, among the elite,
And by Santa Clara University raised.

From mind and heart, I draw the laws complete
That guide my being, everywhere unfazed:
A Luso-Angolan who never admits defeat.
